Meet the Teacher… Imogen



Imogen held a drama scholarship at Durham University where she read English Literature. She then trained on the MA Theatre Directing course at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts and has directed a number of plays on the Edinburgh and London fringes and as part of the RSC Open Stages programme. As an assistant director she has worked regularly with the Olivier award winning director David Thacker at the Octagon Theatre Bolton.

Favourite playwrights: Bryony Lavery, Simon Stephens, Moira Buffini, Arthur Miller and Alice Birch to name a few!

Favourite Authors: This is hard… Roald Dahl, Michael Morpurgo, Donna Tartt, Khaled Hosseini, Kazuo Ishiguro and Sarah Waters.

Favourite Poets: Robert Frost, Thomas Hardy, John Donne and Shakespeare.

 Favourite children’s books: All of Roald Dahl’s novels but especially Danny the Champion of the World and Matilda; The Butterfly Lion and Twist of Gold by Michael Morpurgo; Philip Pullman’s His Dark Materials trilogy; and the whole of C.S. Lewis’ series The Chronicles of Narnia. Oh and I can’t forget Harry Potter!

First Dramatic Moment: My first LAMDA exam when I was 8. I caught the LAMDA bug and couldn’t stay away!
