LAMDA Masterclasses
Our Masterclasses are designed to complement the weekly classes and help boost confidence in performance and public speaking more broadly.

They are tailored to encourage students to go the extra mile and hone their skills for their upcoming June/July LAMDA examinations.
Our previous series of LAMDA Masterclasses took place in the May half term, 2024.
Infant half-day LAMDA Masterclass (Reception - Year 2)
Wednesday 29th May 2024 | 9.30am-12pm | Beacon Centre, Rayners Lane
Designed to accelerate learning and preparation for the summer LAMDA exams, this will be an intensive half-day course designed to complement the weekly classes and help boost confidence in performance and public speaking more broadly.

We will explore exam poems and look at speaking clearly and loudly and using the appropriate expression and actions required. In addition we will explore a famous Children’s story and look at using face, body and voice to create characters and work on confidence in communication skills.

Junior full-day LAMDA Masterclass (Year 3 - Year 6)
Tuesday 28th May 2024 | Beacon Centre, Rayners Lane
Public Speaking/Reading for Performance 9am - 1pm
Acting and Verse Speaking 1.45pm - 4.15pm
Public Speaking/Reading for Performance
The course focuses on enhancing public speaking skills through speech writing, idea structuring, rhetorical devices, confidence-building exercises, vocal tone comprehension, bodily engagement, sight reading, and text incorporation in performances.

Acting & Verse Speaking
This course will focus on character development and confidence through acting techniques, linguistic exploration, physicality, script work, and professional insight, culminating in confident and engaging stage presence.

Senior half-day LAMDA Masterclass (Year 7 - Year 12)
Wednesday 29th May 2024 | 1pm - 4pm | Beacon Centre, Rayners Lane
This half day course will work intensively on public speaking skills.
The session commences with a tutorial on speech writing, covering idea structuring and rhetorical devices. We will develop exercises to build confidence delivery and comprehension of vocal tone and bodily engagement.
Additionally, participants delve into sight reading and incorporating text into public speaking performances, fostering skills in effective delivery and engagement with the audience.
