Winter LAMDA exams - 2025

Too all applicable, I'll send out the exam timetable and exam invoices after half term break. The entry deadline for any undecided pupils is 1st December.

The Watford Festival - March 2025

A quick reminder that I've sent round the sign up sheets for the Watford Festival of Speech and Drama. Students of all ages can take part in this event -and we especially recommend it to our younger pupils to get some early experience in performing in a public arena. If you need me to resend the information, do just let me know. Entry deadline: 11th November.

Winter Showcase - Feb 2025

This will be held on Saturday 8th February. I'll get sign up information after half term.

Finally, I've copied a quick guide on progress/half term homework below for those taking the winter LAMDA exams.

Wishing you and your children a lovely half term break!

Jo and the RM Drama team

Half term homework/progress guide for those taking winter LAMDA exams:

  • Verse and Prose pupils: fully memorise your exam pieces and finish writing up your theory notes (esp for G4+ pupils)

  • Acting:/Shakespeare pupils: fully memorise your exam pieces, go over staging and work on characterisation and look through your theory questions

  • Public Speaking pupils: finish your speeches and now learn them (you can use cue cards with brief notes to help prompt your memory). Please also now make your posters/visual aids - we recommend a board large enough for the examiner to easily see - eg. A3 - and mostly visual images relating to your speech (not too much text)

  • Reading for Performance pupils: Learn your finished intro/link/conclusion. Type up your exam pieces and put them in a folder/booklet (we recommend A5 size for easier handling in the performance. Go over your staging and practise reading the pieces confidently. Go through your theory questions.

Any questions, please feel free to ask. And if you'd like the exam criteria resent, please just let me know

Thanks

Jo
